How do I open .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files if I don't have Office 2007 on my computer?

Office 2007 saves word documents in an Open XML format which means they have the file extension . docx files rather than . doc

This means that they cannot automatically be opened in older versions of Word

Microsoft have provided an update to enable users with Office 2000, XP and 2003 to open, edit, print and save Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents created and saved in the new Office 2007 format. You can download this update here
