Open Internet Explorer - (You do not need to be connected to the Internet - you can work offline)

Go to
Tools
and select
Internet Options

From the window which appears select the
Connections
tab
-
Click on
LAN Settings
or if you are using VPN click on
Aber VPN
and then click on
Settings
-
In the
Settings
window, under
Automatic configuration
, check the box to
Automatically detect settings
-
Then tick the box to
Use a proxy server
........and
Bypass proxy server
-
Click on
Advanced
-
Set the Proxy address to use as
wwwcache.aber.ac.uk
and the port to
8080
-
Tick the box to
Use the same proxy server for all protocols
-
Under Exceptions add
*.aber.ac.uk
-
Click
OK
to close the Settings window
-
Click
OK
to close the Internet Options window

OK
to close the Connection Settings window

Click
OK
to close the Options window
