How can I make my AVG update automatically on the University network?

For AVG to update automatically while your computer is connected to the University network you will need to set it up to use our proxy server:

• Right click on the AVG icon in your system tray:
  
• Choose to Open AVG User Interface
• Go to Tools
• Choose Advanced Settings
• Under Update click on Proxy
  
• Under Update settings - Proxy choose Try connection using proxy and if it fails, connect directly
• Under Manual input the following:
  Server: wwwcache.aber.ac.uk
  Port: 8080
• Click Apply
• Click OK
• Then click Update now
